WVU football junior running back Jahiem White has been racking up the preseason honors.

White was named a Preseason All-Big 12 running back on Monday ahead of this week's Big 12 Media Days -- the honor follows White being named to the Athlon Sports Preseason All-American Team, where he was selected to the Fourth-Team Offense.

With a big junior season anticipated, White has seemed to have come prepared and ready to dominate the Big 12, and many around the program are impressed with the muscle he has put on in preparation for the 2025 season. The York, Pennsylvania, native is due for a huge season in his third year with the Mountaineers -- after splitting duties with CJ Donaldson the past two years, White is projected to be a workhorse in the backfield and seems to be entering the season ready for that workload.

Consistency has so far been the name of the game for White so far in in his collegiate career. White burst onto the scene as a true freshman in 2023 and has tallied 1,687 yards and 11 touchdowns during his first two seasons with West Virginia.

Fans are excited to see what White can do as the presumed starting running back in 2025. Donaldson has since transferred out of the program, joining reigning 2024 National Champions Ohio State. Now, White will command the majority of reps, although some names to keep an eye on in the running back room include Northern Iowa transfer Tye Edwards, SMU transfer Jaylan Knighton, and returning sophomore Diore Hubbard. Fans also expect White's skillset will be a natural fit in a Rich Rodriguez-led offensive scheme.

All we can do now is sit back and hope White lives up to the Preseason All-Big 12 and All-American honors and has a great year contributing to a high-powered Mountaineers offense. WVU begins its 2025 season on August 30 when they host Robert Morris at home.
