Former West Virginia running back CJ Donaldson Jr. has found a new home with a team amongst the upper echelon of college football royalty.

It was announced on Wednesday that Donaldson, who entered the transfer portal last week, has officially committed to Ohio State. The Buckeyes are currently 11-2 and set for regular season re-match with Oregon in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals on New Year’s Day.

Donaldson has spent three seasons with WVU, switching to running back from tight end as a true freshman and making a major impact in the first game of his collegiate career. He would become a breakout star, tallying 421 carries for 2,058 yards and 30 touchdowns over his time in Morgantown – he finished the 2024 season with 163 rushes for 734 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Donaldson will have one year of eligibility remaining with the Buckeyes.
