The West Virginia Mountaineers are ready for NCAA Regional action, and there will be an electric atmosphere in Morgantown for the event.

The Mountaineers were named one of the Top 16 seeds for the tournament, earning them the opportunity to host regional action for the first time in seven years. Since then, the Mountaineers have only seen their fan base grow more excited with the program, which has advanced to back-to-back NCAA Super Regionals last year.

West Virginia will also welcome Kentucky, Wake Forest, and Binghamton for the regional, three schools that are within fairly easy traveling distance from Morgantown. And the combination of rabid WVU fans turning out to support their team and nearby programs making the trek to Morgantown has resulted in the event becoming one of the hottest tickets in sports this week.

Tickets sell out in minutes for Morgantown Regional in NCAA Baseball Tournament

On Wednesday, all-session tickets for the event went on sale at 2:00 PM EST, and were sold out within a half-hour. Within an hour and a half of tickets going on sale, resale tickets were posted on SeatGeek, and were at the time more expensive than tickets for the Spurs-Thunder Game 7 in the NBA Western Conference Finals.

With tickets so highly valued, you can be certain the crowd will be roaring this weekend when the Mountaineers take the diamond for their first game against Binghamton, currently set for a 5 P.M. EST first pitch. When the Mountaineers hosted the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament this past spring, a new program home attendance record was set – now, fans have the chance to do the same again for baseball.
