JJ Quinerly bid Morgantown farewell to embark on her professional career after her senior season, but those who she went to battle with on the hardwood inside the WVU women’s basketball program have not forgotten her.
Quinerly is off to an impressive start at the professional level after being selected by the Dallas Wings in the 2025 WNBA Draft. She has managed to tally 6.8 points and 2.4 assists per game in 25 appearances and 10 starts so far during her rookie season, and has averaged 15.3 minutes of playing time per contest. During a stretch from late June to mid-July, she recorded six consecutive double-digit scoring performances.

Quinerly’s former coach at WVU, Mark Kellogg, held an end-of-summer press conference on Monday to provide updates on his team, and kicked things off by taking time to praise Quinerly’s rookie season efforts.
“JJ Quinerly is off to a good start,” Kellogg said. “She’s getting some love there and starting to play well and starting in the WNBA, and we’re super proud of her.”
Quinerly played for three different head coaches while with the Mountaineers, but Kellogg helmed the program during her final two seasons. Together, they helped lead West Virginia to back-to-back Round of 32 appearances in the NCAA Tournament – Quinerly averaged 20.4 points, 3.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.0 steals per game during her senior campaign at WVU and earned All-Big 12 honors for her performance, in addition to being named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.
