If you didn't know any better, you'd think WVU football coach Rich Rodriguez's top recruiter was beloved Dora the Explorer character Swiper.

That's due to the fact that the Mountaineers have been snatching up numerous recruits who had already committed to other programs, including Noah Tishendorf and Antoine Sharp. Now, the Mountaineers managed another recruiting coup as they swiped Class of 2026 offensive lineman Camden Goforth, who announced he would be switching his commitment to West Virginia.

Goforth, a three-star prospect from McMinn County (TN), was offered by the Mountaineers in May, describing his initial reaction to the offer as "pure excitement." But less than a week later, he announced his commitment to Coastal Carolina on June 2.

But he then followed through on his previously scheduled official visit to Morgantown this past weekend, according to Jeff Cobb of Blue Gold News. It would appear Goforth's visit with WVU football left a good impression, as he made his decision public on the final scheduled day of his visit.

“Excited does not even begin to describe how I’m feeling. This one was huge because it’s been one of my top schools for a while, and now I know it’s official and that is very exciting for me,” Goforth told Rivals last month ahead of his visit.

West Virginia was one of two Power 4 programs to offer Goforth, the other being NC State -- he scheduled an official visit with the Wolf Pack on June 20, but it is unclear whether he'll still make that trip. He also made an unofficial visit to Louisville in March.

WVU football is still working to flip more recruits, as they're currently working on Texas Tech commit Aaron Bradshaw.
