West Virginia football has had to rebuild their offensive line for the 2025 season through the transfer portal, piecing together a massive haul of 11 transfer commits in the portal with a room set to have 22 total athletes competing for five starting spots this fall.

But in college football, the offensive line is notoriously a difficult position to keep stocked using mainly the transfer portal, and the most successful programs find themselves targeting high-quality linemen from the high school recruiting pool and developing them over multiple seasons -- an old-school method that seems to still work for at least one position in a new-school era.

The Mountaineers are currently hard at work laying the foundation for future offensive lines by hunting down bright talents at the prep level, and a pair of three-star prospect at the position in the Class of 2026 are set for official visits in June.

One of those is Mason Wilhelm, a 6'4, 290-pound prospect out of Westlake St. Edward (OH). He has already taken an unofficial visit to the campus, but looks forward "learn more" after meeting with players and furthering connections made with the coaching staff.

He'll be on campus from June 6th-June 8th before taking visits with a pair of out-of-conference WVU rivals -- Pitt and Maryland -- later in the month, with hopes to wrap up the process by the end of June. The staff particularly like the versatility they see in Wilhelm.

The other name to keep an eye on is Camden Goforth from McMinn County (TN), who also took an earlier visit to Morgantown this year. He's back for an official visit from June 13th-June 15th after obtaining an official offer from the Mountaineers, which was his first official Power 4 offer. The 6'4, 315-pound offensive tackle is ecstatic about the offer.

“Excited does not even begin to describe how I’m feeling. This one was huge because it’s been one of my top schools for a while and now I know it’s official and that is very exciting for me,” he said.
