It's possible there are no better fans in college sports than those who support the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Over the past week, as the Mountaineers took center stage during NCAA Regional and NCAA Super Regional action in Morgantown, with the crowd going viral multiple times for their post-game tradition of singing "Country Roads, Take Me Home."
And as WVU baseball secured their first-ever bid to the College World Series on Saturday, the fans were out in full force once again.
West Virginia baseball fans make an impact at Super Regionals
It all started very early in the morning, with fans lining up in a queue before the sun even rose over Morgantown to secure free seating on "Randy's Ridge" overlooking Kendrick Family Ballpark. And when the seating on the hillside finally opened, fans sprinted to land the best seats possible.

But there were plenty of fans inside Kendrick Family Ballpark as well, with Game 2 of the Morgantown Super Regional shattering the program's all-time attendance record with 4,675 fans inside the stadium proper.
And of course, it's not a West Virginia crowd without at least one fan going viral for their...unique approach to their fandom, and that was the case again on Saturday as one WVU fan appeared behind home plate in the stands with what appeared to be a dead raccoon around their neck to help bring the West Virginia batters and base runners some good luck. Don't ask us how that works.

And finally, once the Mountaineers capped off their dominant 17-1 win over Cal Poly to secure their first-ever trip to the College World Series (as well as the winngest season in program history), the fans wowed everyone watching with another rendition of "Country Roads" – perhaps the sweetest one yet.
Now, WVU's fans will have the opportunity to take their energetic presence to Omaha to support the Mountaineers – fans can request tickets online through their WVUGAME.com account online, with the deadline for ticket requests set for Monday, June 8.
