There are few things that West Virginia fans love to do more than belting "Take Me Home, Country Roads" in unison after a big win for the Mountaineers. That tradition was on full display on Monday night when the Mountaineers defeated the Kentucky Wildcats to advance to the NCAA Super Regional round, and the internet went absolutely crazy for it.

The John Denver anthem has long been an unoffical theme for West Virginia sports teams, and was often played before and during sporting events for years before the post-game tradition began. That started with current head coach Rich Rodriguez, who began the tradition in 2002 during his first stint with the program.

Now, it's taken a life of it's own in the 22 years since, and it was put on perfect display as the Mountaineers hosted an NCAA Regional for the first time since 2019, and pulled off a dramatic win on national primetime television. The ESPN2 broadcast stuck with the post-game celebration in full, even raising the volume on Armani Guzman's headset mic as he waited to do a post-game interview to catch him singing as well.

Fans and college sports personalities all across the internet quickly reacted to the beautiful display from the West Virginia crowd, showering the fan base with praise and highlighting how postseason college sports on home campuses provide such unique and incredible atmospheres. You can check out the reactions below, and now, we'll wait to see if the fans in attendance next weekend can top this weekend's post-game atmosphere.
