A busy recruiting and transfer season for WVU Men's Basketball recently added another high-level prospect. WVU is continuing to build for the future after getting a lot of help with the transfer portal.

Top 100 high school recruit in the class of 2025, per On3 Sports, committed to WVU on Tuesday. 6’5” Jayden Forsythe has chosen the Mountaineers over a list of other P4 schools. Right now, On3 has Forsythe as the 92nd overall prospect in his class.

The young Forsythe is a shooting guard who can light it up from the three-point line and will be taking his talents to Morgantown for the 2025-2026 season. According to Joe Tipton of On3 Sports, Forsythe shot 40% from the three-point line in the Nike EYBL, which is an AAU basketball league for high school basketball stars.

247Sports has Forsythe as the second-best recruit in the state of Pennsylvania and the 31st-ranked SF in the country. Norristown, Pennsylvania, native Forsythe is a highly recruited and converted player who will make any roster in the country better with his addition, and he is a great pickup by Coach Hodge and company.

New head coach Ross Hodge adds young talent to his roster for 2025-2026

After former Xavier head coach Sean Miller accepted the head coach position at Texas University, the former Xavier commit, Forsythe, decided to reopen his recruiting before landing on WVU as his latest destination.

The news of Forsythe comes a couple of weeks after WVU had secured a huge transfer get for Coach Hodge. On April 20, F Treysean Eaglestaff committed to the Mountaineers, transferring in from North Dakota. Forsythe will join the 6’6” Eaglestaff in Morgantown for the 2025-2026 season, a season that is already getting a lot of anticipation building up because of the success that coach Hodge has achieved in the transfer portal and getting high school recruits.

With all the additions that Coach Hodge has brought in, replacing all the players that have transferred out of the WVU program, there is a lot of buzz around what could be an exciting year for basketball in Morgantown next season. What will be a year removed from an NCAA tournament snub, WVU fans will be anxiously awaiting what could happen during the 2025-2026 season.
