The West Virginia Mountaineers are set to show off their new roster to fans in their final spring practice session this Saturday.
For their final allotted practice of the spring, the Mountaineers are set to hold the 2026 Gold-Blue Spring Festival, which will feature an intrasquad scrimmage, a postgame concert from country music star Jake Owen, and a number of fan-focused pregame festivities. Head coach Rich Rodriguez said earlier this week that he's hoping for a large turnout for the event.
"If you're a Mountaineer fan and you can make it this Saturday, come on up here and check us out, and check out all the things we got going on," Rodriguez said. "Bring your whole family, bring your kids."
And now, for the fans eager to get a look at the new team (which will feature over 70 newcomers between freshmen and transfers for the second consecutive season), they have an early peak at how the team will be divvied up for the scrimmage action during the festival on Saturday.
In an expected move, the two teams appear to each be led by one of the top two quarterbacks in most fans' eyes – with Oklahoma transfer Michael Hawkins Jr. set to head up the gold/white team, and returning sophomore Scotty Fox Jr. at signal caller for the blue team.
Fox will be joined on the blue team by 2025 leading FBS rusher and Jacksonville State transfer Cam Cook, one of the most anticipated transfers for WVU. Meanwhile, highly touted freshmen offensive tackle Kevin Brown and safety Matt Sieg will be on the gold/white team. Check out the full rosters below.
