Miles Sadler's massive week in EYBL league should excite WVU fans

The next star guard for West Virginia Mountaineers continues to put on a show during his senior season of high school.

The West Virginia Mountaineers are closing up their first season under Ross Hodge, and it most likely will be coming without an NCAA Tournament trip. But their five-star high school signee Miles Sadler has been proving why he might get them back there next year.

Sadler is the star recruit in Ross Hodge's incoming class, and you can see why by taking a look at this week's headlines in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL). The WVU basketball commit kicked things off by being named the EYBL Player of the Year on Thursday night, a prestigious award that was won last year by current Arkansas guard Darius Acuff Jr., who is averaging 22.2 points and 6.4 assists per game for the No. 17 team in the country as a true feshman.

But Sadler didn't stop with bringing home some solo hardware, as he is working to lead the CIA Bella Vista to the EYBL Championship. And on Friday, Sadler exploded offensively against the No. 2 high school program in the nation to lead his team to victory in the EYBL quarterfinals on Friday – he would finish with 32 points and six assists, and in one viral highligt below, lifted his small 5-foot-10 frame above the rim to posterize a much larger defender with a slam dunk.

Sadler, who is the top rated signee in West Virginia history, will likely make a Day 1 impact for the Mountaineers as a true freshman, and if his senior season at the prep level is any indication, he's ready to step up to the task at hand. And who knows? Maybe next season, we'll be talking about a Top 25 WVU team led by Sadler scoring over 20 points per game.
