The West Virginia Mountaineers are expected to be in play to snatch one of the top-rated remaining players in the transfer portal, and news on exactly where he's headed is expected to be coming soon.
Baylor edge rusher Kamauryn Morgan initially committed to the Virginia Tech Hokies, but issues with enrollment at the beginning of the spring semester caused him to part ways with the program. The enrollment issues stemmed from an academic issue at Baylor which has since been resolved, and Morgan will be eligible and is looking to enroll with a new team immediately.
Rich Rodriguez and the West Virginia Mountaineers hope to land 4-star transfer Kamauryn Morgan
Last week, it was reported by 247Sports that Morgan was garnering "significant interest" and was likely to make a decision "very soon." This was followed on Tuesday by Morgan himself posting a photo of himself on social media in a black jersey that read "The Portal" on the front, with the post captioned "BIG Announcement Soon."

Morgan is reportedly in the mix for the four-star portal prospect, and fans will be hoping the upcoming announcement has something to do with the gifted edge rusher spending the 2026 season (and perhaps beyond) in Morgantown.
If WVU does land Morgan, it will add to a transfer portal class of over thirty players for the Mountaineers that has been lauded by some national analysts. Morgan would be quite the impressive addition, too, as he saw action as a true freshman for Baylor last season and has three years of eligibility remaining. He was previously described by 247Sports recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks as a player who "possesses traits that could lead to significant NFL Draft potential."
