Jordan Harrison expresses gratitude as she embarks on WNBA Draft journey

The WVU women's basketball star is looking to play professionally at the highest level of the sport.

West Virginia women's basketball has had an incredible run of success over the past three seasons under the leadership of head coach Mark Kellogg.

They have won 25 or more games in three consecutive seasons, advanced to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament in each of those years, and captured the Big 12 Women's Basketball Tournament Championship for the first time in nine years this past season, which allowed them to host in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1992.

And every step of the way during Kellogg's tenure, the Mountaineers have been supported greatly by the presence of Jordan Harrison. Now, after a wildly successful senior season, she's thanking everyone along the way while looking to take the next step in her career

Harrison declared for the 2026 WNBA Draft on Thursday, and penned a heartfelt letter of gratitude to everyone who had supported her along the way.

"I want to thank my family and friends for your sacrifices and constant support over the years," she wrote. "My time at Stephen F. Austin and West Virginia University has meant so much to me. You will forever hold a special place in your heart. Each place has poured into me in ways that I will always be grateful for."

I want to thank my coaches andteammates for believing in me and trusting me throughout this journey. Every step along the way has led me to this moment."

Harrison averaged 13.1 points, 5.2 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.2 steals during her senior season, and was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, the Big 12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player, and a Naismith Women's Defensive Player of the Year finalist. Her 110 steals this past season rank as the second most in a single season in program history.

The WNBA Draft is set to take place this coming Monday, April 13, and will be broadcast on ESPN. Harrison has been projected as a possible third round selection.
