Two former West Virginia Mountaineers have secured their spot in the WNBA this season as each franchise finalized their regular season rosters on Thursday.

JJ Quinerly earned a roster spot with the Dallas Wings for the second straight season despite her rookie season coming to an end due to injury, and the Wings undergoing a coaching change. Meanwhile, her former WVU teammate Jordan Harrison landed a spot on the final roster for expansion franchise the Portland Fire.

Quinerly was a third round draft pick in 2025 by the Wings, and ended up making 34 appearances and 13 starts as a rookie before an injury prematurely ended he campaign. She finished the season with 6.5 points, 2.3 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per game. She missed the start of the preseason this year, and she recorded seven points, three assists, three rebounds, and one steal in 11 minutes during her one preseason appearance.

Harrison finished her collegiate career with West Virginia just a couple months ago, leading the Mountaineers to a Big 12 Tournament Championship and the opportunity to host the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1992.

However, she went undrafted in this year's draft before earning an opportunity with the Fire in their first season, and she then averaged 7.0 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game in the preseason. On Thursday, it was announced she had made the final roster.

“I would say I’m just excited to be here, learn as much as I can," she said. "Be a sponge and listen to what everybody has to say.”

The Wings will begin their season on Saturday, May 9 against the Indiana Fever at 1:00 PM, while the Fire will get their season underway on Saturday, May 9 against the Chicago Sky at 9:00 PM.
