West Virginia’s recently went undefeated in the Clemson Regional and advanced to their second-consecutive NCAA Super Regional against LSU, four Mountaineers were honored on the All-Tournament Team.

Leading the charge for WVU, Armani Guzman took home the Clemson Regional MVP honors. The sophomore was nothing short of exceptional during regional play. Also getting recognition for their performance in the regional were electric starting pitcher Griffin Kirn, catcher Logan Sauve, and shortstop Brodie Kresser, who all made the All-Tournament Team.

Guzman went on an absolute tear, going 8-12 across the three games at the plate with six RBIs and two doubles. Getting a start since May 4th, Guzman was inserted into the starting lineup at third base for the regional, and that decision was ultimately one of the biggest decisions Sabins made which resulted in his team's winning ways over the weekend.

As for Kirn, the team's ace pitcher picked up a win and a save over the weekend. The lefty starter got the nod on the mound and earned the win in Game One of the regional, pitching 7.1 innings with one earned run, five hits allowed, two walks, and seven strikeouts. He would then reappear during the ninth inning of Sunday's game against Kentucky, garnering three quick outs in the final inning of play after the Mountaineers rallied to take a late lead and secure the team's spot in the Super Regional.

The dependable catcher Sauve stayed consistent throughout the series, recording a hit in all three games -- including two hits each in the final two games. Sauve also recorded three RBIs and four runs scored in the three-game regional. He was very consistent hitting in the two spot, either driving in runs or getting on base and letting hitters behind him in the lineup bring him home.

Jesup, Iowa, native and vital shortstop Kresser is the last of the Mountaineers on the All-Tournament team. Kresser totaled six hits during regional play, propelled by a 4-for-5 day at the plate against Clemson. Adding four runs and one RBI, Kresser also found ways to contribute to the Mountaineers' offense.

Having four players named to the All-Tournament Team is a testament to the success that WVU had in the Clemson Regional. Going 3-0 in regional play requires some serious production from your players, so it comes as little to no surprise that WVU had four members of the All-Tournament Team.
