Best Virginia, the alumni team for the West Virginia Mountaineers which has competed annually in recent years in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) held nationally each summer, has added another roster member for the 2025 tournament -- and he'll bring some NBA experience.
Erik Stevenson has been announced for the roster for thie year's tournament -- Stevenson spent one season at WVU (2022-2023), and recently has seen some good success in the NBA G League, turning that success into a chance to see NBA action. This past season, Stevenson averaged 14.7 points per game, 3.8 assists per game, and grabbed 3.8 rebounds per contest in the G League while shooting 44% from the field and 35% from behind the three-point arc.

The former Mountaineer will return to the TBT action after last playing in the TBT for Best Virginia in 2023. Stevenson will team up with another former teammate in Kedrian “Keddy” Johnson in the backcourt for Best Virginia. Johnson and Stevenson were seniors together during the 2022-2023 season when they last played on the same collegiate team, before both joining the 2023 Best Virginia team.
2025 will be the 12th year of TBT, and 64 teams will compete for the $1 million cash prize given to the winning team. As of right now, Best Virginia only has two commitments from players -- Johnson and Stevenson -- but Best Virginia always fields a competitive team in the TBT, and more additions will likely come soon.

TBT and Best Virginia fans should expect to see a passionate Stevenson who can go get a bucket for his team almost at will for the guard. Scoring almost 15 points per contest in the G League and 15.4 points per game in one season against Big 12 competition, one good term to describe the guard is “scorer”.
Fans can watch Stevenson and the rest of the Best Virginia squad in West Virginia’s capital city, Charleston, when the TBT action begins July 18. Tickets became available on Tuesday for the public to purchase.
