With the close of the 2025-2026 men's basketball season with the NCAA National Championship on Monday, the transfer portal is officially open.

Players were eligibile to put their name into the portal beginning at Midnight on Tuesday, April 7, and it will stay open for entries for two weeks, closing on April 21.

The past few seasons, coaching changes have played a significnt role in decimating West Virginia's roster and making the transfer portal top priority. The Mountaineers will have to hit the portal hard again this offseason, as the team will be losing several seniors to graduation, including the entirety of the starting lineup.

WVU head coach Ross Hodge has talked earlier this winter about his plans to hit the portal hard, and as the Mountaineers have already seen a number of underclassmen enter the portal on the first day, expect that commitment to the portal to strengthen over the next few weeks.

Consider this your hub to track exactly who will be entering the portal among players on this past season's roster with eligibility remaining, as well as players have have committed to the Mountaineers out of the portal. There will be lots of new faces on next season's roster for Hodge and the Mountaineers, so make sure you know who they are ahead of time.

Update (4/14/26): WVU adds four-star transfer prospect Mouhamed Sylla from Georgia Tech, with the 6-foot-10 center becoming the second Power 5 four-star transfer addition for the Mountaineers.

Update (4/13/26): The Mountaineers will lose Abraham Oyeadier to the transfer portal, and added four-star transfer prospect Finley Bizjack on Monday.

Update (4/11/26): The Mountaineers have earned a commitment from Boise State forward Javan Buchanan.

Update (4/10/26): Jasper Floyd has entered the portal, likely because he needs a waiver if he wants to play another season and WVU can't save a spot for him while waiting for that to play out. Whether he can play anywhere next season is to be dtermined. Joining him is guard Morris Ugusuk, who has one year of eligibility remaining.

Update (4/7/26): DJ Thomas, Jayden Forsythe, and Evans Barning Jr. are in the portal. No players have committed yet.
