The West Virginia Mountaineers are already very active looking for new players in the transfer portal, and they have their eyes on one target to address some of their weaknesses along the offensive line.
The Mountaineers have scheduled a visit with all-Sun Belt Georgia Southern offensive tackle Johnnie Brown, who will visiting Morgantown on Saturday and Sunday. Brown was a Class of 2022 signee for Miami, and also spent a season with USF. He started all 13 games (12 at left tackle, one at right tackle) this season for the Eagles.

Brown finished the season as a third-team all-conference selection, having registered 869 snaps and earned a Pro Football Focus (PFF) grade of 69.4 across the season. The Eagles finished 7-6 and averaged 154.2 rushing yards per game this past year.
The Mountaineers will be looking at the offensive line as a major area to shore up for the program, as their offensive line struggled significantly in 2025 as the offense never seemed to find any sort of rhthym during the season.
The Mountaineers are losing seven offensive lineman from last season's team to the transfer portal, and four more will see their eligibility end. and signed seven high school and JUCO prospects in the Class of 2026. The Mountaineers will also see the position group led by a new coach next season, as Rich Rodriguez and the Mountaineers will reunite with a familiar face in veteran offensive line coach Rick Trickett, who served under Rodriguez previously in his first tenure at WVU and at Jacksonville State.
