The West Virginia Mountaineers have been busy with the transfer portal, but in college football, you can never take too much time off from working high school recruiting as well. Recently, WVU football made moves in pursuit of a pair of talented future wide receivers.
West Virginia signs Kennedy Award winner Brad Mossor
The Mountaineers are not done making moves in the 2026 recruiting class, despite a massive signing class. On Friday, the Mountaineers offered Brad Mossor, a 2026 in-state wide receiver prospect from Princeton High School, and Mossor quickly shut down his recruitment and committed.
Mossor led Princeton to the program's first-ever state championship in football in it's 102nd season, and won the 2025 Kennedy Award – annually awarded to the best high school football player in the state of West Virginia. He finished his senior season with 93 receptions for 1,508 yards and 13 touchdowns, rushed for 896 yards and 28 touchdowns, and returned three punts, two interceptions and one kickoff for a touchdown, while also adding one passing touchdown of offense.
Mossor became just the fourth player who primarily played at wide receiver to win the award, joining in-state legends such as former high school teammate and WVU and Concord athlete Dom Collins and Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss. When asked about his dynamic performance in multiple facets of the game, he said a former West Virginia star served as his inspiration.
I liked it,” Mossor said. “Me growing up watching (former WVU standout) Tavon Austin, I wanted to do what he did. I think what I did was kind of crazy.”
Mossor's offer from WVU was just his third Division 1 offer after Morgan State and Wagner, and his first offer at the FBS level.

Mountaineers hit in-home visit with 4-star 2027 WR Anthony Jennings
One of the fastest-rising stars in the Class of 2027 is Dillard (Fla.) wide receiver Anthony Jennings, who is ranked as a four-star prospect by 247Sports and is ranked as the 29th-best player nationally at his position in the 2027 class, and the 213th-best player in the nation overall in their composite rankings.
Jennings goes by the nickname 'Speedy,' and it's evident why when you see him sprint. Jennings runs a 10.8 100-meter dash in track, and a 4.41 40-yard dash. He currently boasts 13 Power 4 offers, including WVU, and the competition includes Indiana, Tennessee, Florida, Florida State, and Pitt, among others.
Recently, WVU assistant Travis Trickett took time out of his busy schedule to make the trip down to Florida and visit Jennings in-home, letting him know just how much the Mountaineers would love to add him to the next signing class. Jennings was appreciative, and shared a photo from the visit on social media.
