Hollywod is coming to Morgantown.

After pulling off several flips earlier in the day, including snagging four-star Penn State commit Matt Sieg, WVU football landed another one on Wednesday afternoon as the landed a three-star athlete out of Edna Karr (La.) in John "Hollywood" Johnson III.

Johnson III is the 58th-best athlete in the Class of 2026 and the 31st-best player in the state of Louisiana, according 247Sports. He originally committed to Liberty last spring before flipping his decision to Washington State last month. Now, Johnson has flipped again and is headed to Morgantown to join the Mountaineers. He is set to play quarterback at West Virginia.

“I come from a family of quarterbacks, so it’s a blessing to be able to sign to a Power-Four college as a quarterback," Johnson told reporters on Wednesday.

Johnson has led Edna Karr on a 25-game winning streak over the past two years as their starting quarterback, and in his senior season he has racked up 1,931 passing yards, 800 rushing yards, and 36 total offensive touchdowns, and is looking to lead his to back-to-back state championships. During his junior season, he tallied 4,300 yards and 50 touchdowns.

According to his high school offensive coordinator and father, John Johnson Jr., the younger Johnson has a tendency to provide clutch performances when his team needs someone to step up, as demonstrated earlier this season in a performance that saw him put up 232 passing yards, 101 rushing yards, and six total touchdowns.

“He usually shows up very big in our biggest games of the year and he has done that throughout his career," Johnson Jr. said after the win.
