Sylla is by far the biggest of the three additions so far – the 6-foot-10 center is rated a four-star transfer prospect and is the 41st best player in the portal and fifth best center according to On3, and the 26th-best player in the portal according to 247Sports. He made 15 starts for the Yellow Jackets before being sidelined with an injury last season, recording five double-doubles and averaging 9.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
But he's not the only four-star transfer joining the Mountaineers from a power conference, as WVU landed Butler Guard Finley Bizjack on Monday. Bizjack averaged 17.1 points per game last season for the Bulldogs to earn third-team All-Big East honors. He was ranked in the Top 150 portal prospects and the 11th-best combo guard by On3, while 247Sports has him listed as the 51st-best player in the portal and a Top 10 combo guard.
They join the first commit for the Mountaineers this offseason in Boise State forward Javan Buchanan. Buchanan is listed as a four-star portal prospect by On3 as well, but has gone unevaluated by 247Sports. He averaged 12.6 points and 5.0 rebounds as a starter for the Broncos last season and was a first-team NAIA All-American before his two-year stint with Boise State.
