WVU baseball announced the completion and opening of the WVU Baseball Biomechanics and Performance Center this spring.

The 8,200 square-foot facility will provide great resources for the WVU Baseball team to track athletic performances and receive real-time feedback on different measured metrics. The facility was helped paid for by a donation of alum Ken Kendrick, who the Kendrick Family Ballpark is named after.

Partnering with the School of Sports Sciences, the WVU Baseball Biomechanics and Performance Center will provide opportunities for athletes and students to use the facility to further education in sport sciences and baseball athletes' game performances.

New state-of-the-art facility for WVU Baseball and School of Sport Sciences

The WVU Baseball Biomechanics and Performance Center being opened in head coach Steve Sabinsโ€™ first season in control points to a lot of signs that this program is in great hands. Sabins was personally selected by former head coach Randy Mazey to lead the program and spent nine seasons as a part of Mazeyโ€™s coaching staff.

In a quote with WV Sports Now, Sabins discussed the impact of the new state-of-the-art facility.

โ€œPartnering with Dana Voelker and the School of Sport Sciences will allow us to leverage data and create player development systems only available at WVU."

This new facility will help the Mountaineers keep up with some Big 12 powerhouses in Oklahoma State, Arizona, and TCU. In addition to the increased quality training and technology available to improve performance, the new WVU Baseball Biomechanics and Performance Center will be a great educational opportunity for students in the School of Sports Sciences.
