One of West Virginia football's bitter regional rivals has stolen another piece of the Mountaineers' offensive line room.
Following Virginia Tech's acquisition of former WVU offensive line coach Matt Moore and WVU starting guard Tomas Rimac over the past week, it appears that WVU freshman offensive lineman Kyle Altuner, a four-star recruit in the Class of 2024, will join the pair in Blacksburg. The news was announced Monday by Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports/CBS Sports
Altuner saw no action as a freshman following a serious lower-body injury over the summer. A pair of his high school teammates -- Eidan Buchanan and Gavin Crawford -- are currently committed to WVU in the Class of 2025. They signed with the program in early December despite the firing of Neal Brown, but neither have reaffirmed their commitments following the departure of their high school teammate. Altuner will have four years of eligibility remaining.
