Former West Virginia offensive line coach Matt Moore, who served all six years under former Head Coach Neal Brown, has landed a new job with a bitter rival of the Mountaineers.
It was announced on Monday that Moore is headed to Blacksburg, Va. to take over the offensive line coaching gig at Virginia Tech.
In Moore's time at WVU, he coached three current NFL offensive lineman, including first-round 2024 selection Zach Frazier and fifth-round 2020 selection Colton McKivitz. With Wyatt Milum projected as a top selection at offensive tackle in the 2025 NFL Draft and multiple other lineman from WVU declaring for the upcoming draft, it is likely more numbers will join the ranks of Moore's former WVU lineman playing professionally.
The Mountaineers also had a rushing offense ranked in the Top 10 amongst power conference programs in both 2023 and 2024, with the team averaging over 210 rushing yards per game during that two-year stretch.
Moore will bring 17 total years of Division 1 coaching experience and 10 at the power conference level to the Hokies.
