West Virginia football's Rich Rodriguez talked during spring practices this offseason about a lack of experience among his offensive line unit in Morgantown, and he has already brought one veteran offensive lineman onto the roster in the spring transfer portal window. Now, he has another option at the position who's fresh on the market who he could bring to WVU -- one that he is intricately familiar with.

On Wednesday, Jacksonville State offensive lineman Will O'Steen entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer, according to Chris Hummer of 247Sports. O'Steen has played for Rich Rodriguez for three seasons at Jacksonville State -- and would bring extensive game experience within Rodriguez's offense.

The White Plains, Alabama native has started 38 games over the past three seasons for the Gamecocks, and has played 2,500 career snaps. He was a two-time All-Conference USA selection, including a first-team member in 2024. He was awarded a 78.7 overall grade from Pro Football Focus last season.

With Rodriguez still having concerns about his offensive line following the spring season, primarily regarding their discipline and experience, it is clear he wants to add some more pieces to the room. He started with veteran North Alabama offensive lineman Mickel Clay, and is now has an opportunity to continue with a familiar face in O'Steen.

If the Mountaineers do add O'Steen, it will be the second offensive lineman joining the roster this spring with just one season of eligibility remaining, which would bring the roster to seven total offensive linemen who will be desperate to see the field this year. It will be interesting to see who else Rodriguez adds -- and who might leave.
