WVU football's depleted offensive line got a huge boost in the form of two native West Virginians with Division 1 experience as the program received commitments on Saturday from Huntington alum and No. 1-ranked in-state player in the Class of 2024 Robby Martin and Robert C. Byrd alum Wyatt Minor.
The pair of lineman return home after travelling out-of-state initially to find their college of choice -- Martin spent the 2024 season with North Carolina State in the ACC, while Minor spent his first two seasons with Division 1 FCS level program Youngstown State.
Martin redshirted this past season at NC State, but as was previously mentioned, was regarded the top prospect in West Virginia in his recruiting class. In high school, he earned a WVSSAC Class AAA State Championship as a heavyweight wrestler, and was a member of a Class AAA State Football Championship team at Huntington High School.
Minor, meanwhile, also redshirted his first season at Youngstown State in 2023 and saw limited action in 2024 before deciding to transfer out. He is the second Youngstown State player and West Virginia native to join the program at WVU this offseason after wide receiver Cyrus Traugh committed earlier this month.
