WVU women's basketball saw quite the historic season come to an end with a loss to the Kentucky Wildcats in the NCAA Tournament, but one player from the team will get one more shot to wow crowds on a national stage .
Starting guard Sydney Shaw, who spent the past two seasons with the Mountaineers after transferring in from Auburn, was a crucial part of the West Virginia lineup this past season, and she was so efficient for the team in large part because of her deadly three-point shooting – now, she'll be headed to Indianapolis to participate in the State Farm College Women's 3-Point Championship during the events surrounding Final Four weekend.

West Virginia guard Sydney Shaw earns program record, will take part in Final Four weekend
Shaw was as good as any player has ever been from behind-the-arc for West Virginia this season. She shattered the program's single-season three-point record this year with 95 made three-pointers, surpassing former record holder Takisha Granberry, who had sat atop the list since 2009.

She was particularly deadly in the postseason. In the Big 12 Tournament, where she went 9-of-22 from three-point range to help lead the Mountaineers to their first conference tournament championship since 2017, including a Big 12 Tournament record of five-made three-pointers in the quarterfinals and three in the tournament championship win.
Then in the NCAA Tournament, she knocked down two three-pointers against Miami (OH) in the opening round, before going 6-of-11 from behind-the-arc against Kentucky in the second round loss, scoring 23 points as one of the team;'s leading scorers.
Shaw will compete in the event on Friday, April 3 at 7 PM EST at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, with the event set to air on Sunday, April 5 at 1:30 PM EST on ESPN.
