No. 4 West Virginia men's soccer continued their strong start to the 2024 season with a 4-0 victory over George Washington on Friday at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. It was the third consecutive win for the Mountaineers.

Fifth-year forward Sergio Ors Navarro, who was honored last week as Sun Belt Player of the Week, also scored in his third consecutive game, tallying one of the team’s four goals. The performance allowed Ors Navarro to keep his spot as the leading scorer in the nation this season with six total goals. Simon Carlson added his third goal of the year and recorded his NCAA-leading fourth assist, while Felix Ewald netted his second goal of the season and Marcus Caldeira scored his first.

West Virginia's defense remained impenetrable for the second straight game, preventing George Washington from registering a single shot on goal. The Mountaineers outshot their opponents 20-2 and held a 10-3 edge in corner kicks.

Next up for the Mountaineers is their first road trip of the season with two upcoming matches in California. They will face California Baptist on Friday, Sept. 6, at 10 p.m. ET, followed by a game against Loyola Marymount on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 8 p.m. ET.
