While West Virginia men’s soccer is just two games into the 2024 season, fifth-year forward Sergio Ors Navarro is already making a huge impact on the pitch.

Ors Navarro was the third-leading scorer for the Mountaineers in 2023, racking up eight goals throughout the course of the season. Now, he’s more than halfway to that number with 15 games still remaining on the schedule.

He opened the season by claiming a hat trick in a 4-2 win for WVU against Purdue Fort-Wayne, scoring one goal each with his left and right foot and another via a header. That performance alone would earn him Sun Belt Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first week of the season, and is thus far the only hat trick of the season across the NCAA.

He followed that up with another impressive performance to kick off the second week of action for the Mountaineers, adding another pair of goals in a 4-0 win over St. Francis (PA) to bring his season goal total to five. As of this story, he leads the NCAA in total goals scored.
