A popular college baseball podcast has released their staff picks for this weekend's NCAA Super Regional matchups, and they do not favor West Virginia in the slightest.
Four staff members from the On The Clock podcast from Just Baseball Media weighed in on each Super Regional matchup this weekend, and all four picked the LSU Tigers over WVU in the upcoming Super Regional matchup. Game One of the Super Regional will be in Baton Rouge beginning on Saturday, with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. EST and live television coverage on ESPN.

It is no secret that West Virginia is heavily considered the underdog in their Super Regional matchup. LSU was the sixth overall seed nationally heading into the postseason following a great season in a stacked SEC conference. WVU is amidst a historic season, but came into the postseason with a bit of a limp -- the Mountaineers dropped six of their last seven games before the conference tournament. In the Big 12 Tournament, WVU defeated Cincinnati before getting handled by Arizona in the semifinals.
But the team's cold streak has been snapped since, as the Mountaineers went 3-0 in regional play to win the Clemson Regional and advance. Now they stand to face the toughest opponent they have all season -- so it makes sense why WVU is a heavy underdog in the Super Regional matchup.
Currently, as of Friday, LSU has +330 odds on DraftKings to win the College World Series, which puts them as the current favorite. Arkansas and Tennessee have the next highest odds, at +380 and +500, respectively. To put it in perspective, WVU is +6000 to win the College World Series. The Mountaineers are +300 odds to win the Baton Rouge Super Regional, while the host team LSU Tigers are -400 odds to win the Super Regional.
Even though West Virginia is a big underdog, baseball fans know any team can win on any day. If WVU can ride some momentum, get some great pitching, and keep the bats rolling, they might just have a chance to shock the world.
