Never doubt how much Pat McAfee loves West Virginia sports.

McAfee starred for the Mountaineers on the gridiron as a kicker/punter from 2005-2008, playing during current head coach Rich Rodriguez's first stint with the Mountaineers (and one season under former Rodriguez assistant Bill Stewart).

And on Friday, as West Virginia baseball hosted an NCAA Super Regional for the first time in program history, McAfee was front-and-center in the home crowd, seated next to his former coach – even pictured at one point drinking a beer with his former coach while celebrating a West Virginia grand slam.

Former WVU football star makes appearance as West Virginia baseball wins in opening Super Regional game

WVU has been going viral over the past week for the electric atmosphere at the Morgantown Regional last weekend, highlight by WVU reeling off three consecutive wins in elimination games to advance to the Super Regional round for the third straight year.

And the cherry on top was the internet's reaction to the team's tradition of singing "Take Me Home, Country Roads" after the win, which garnered attention from prominent sports personalities online and even national news outlets.

McAfee cancelled his daily episode of The Pat McAfee Show to make the trip, and he picked the perfect game to attend. The Mountaineers got off to an incredibly hot start in the Morgantown Super Regional, running away to a dominant 12-2 victory against Cal Poly to open the three-game series. With the win, the Mountaineers are now just one win away from advancing to the College World Series for the first time in program history.
