The No. 15 West Virginia Mountaineers enter Sunday looking for to capture a Big 12 Tournament Championship for the first time since 2017, and their first tournament title under head coach Mark Kellogg. Also on their mind? The opportunity to earn a No. 4 seed or higher in the NCAA Tournament and host the opening weekend of play at the Hope Coliseum.

To make that happen, WVU women's basketball, who enters ranked 15th nationally and the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament, will have to knock off 1-seed and Top 10 opponent TCU in the final round. The Mountaineers knocked off Arizona State and Colorado in the quarterfinals and semifinals to get here, while the Horned Frogs defeated BYU in the quarterfinals and Kansas State in the semifinals.

The West Virginia Mountaineers and TCU Horned Frogs have played 32 times in their history, and WVU holds a 23-9 lead in the series. However, TCU has won their last four games against West Virginia, including two victories earlier this season – a 51-50 victory on a buzzer beater in Morgantown, and a 59-50 win on their homecourt.

Last season, TCU kncoked the Mountaineers out of the Big 12 Tournament in the semifinals= round, with a 71-65 win.
