Sources have told CBS Sports that West Virginia football has officially decided to part ways with Head Coach Neal Brown following a six-season tenure in Morgantown. The news broke around 3:45 PM EST on Sunday.
The decision comes after Brown's team finished well below expectations with a 6-6 record this season. He went 37-35 overall as the head coach of the program, with a losing record in Big 12 play. The final nail in the coffin appeared to be a 52-15 loss to Texas Tech to close the regular season on Saturday.
Brown came to WVU after a successful tenure at Troy -- sources report their is interest from from his alma mater UMass as well as other athletic departments in bringing Brown on board.
