WVU baseball's season came to an end on Wednesday with a 12-7 loss to UNC in the College World Series semifinals on Wednesday, but the team certainly has very little to hang their head about.
Despite the loss to the Tar Heels, the Mountaineers put forth a monumental effort this season which completely re-wrote program history. The team's 47 wins set a new program record for single-season wins, breaking the record set the previous season with 45 wins. They brought an NCAA Regional to Morgantown for just the third time ever, and the first time in nine years.
The best season in program history has come to a close.

Incredible season by the Mountaineers. Made the final four and set a bunch of program records. They'll be back in Omaha soon. This program is still in the early stages of becoming a national power.

This feels like that Duke Final Four basketball game. Amazingly fun ride to Final Four. Program and fanbase energized. Ran into a great team who played great and we didn’t have our best.
