Mark Kellogg has already landed one of the key pieces to his 2027 recruiting class – and it's quite a familiar face. On Thursday, Kellogg's daughter – Morgantown High School (WV) senior Kayli Kellogg – announced that she will be staying in the Mountain State to playfor her father at West Virginia.
Kellogghas been rankedamong the Top 100 players in the Class of 2027 by Prep Girls Hoops, averaging 21.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 3.8 steals per game as a sophomore before missing last season due to injury. Now, she will join the Mountaineers to continue her career.

Kayli Kellogg commits to play for WVU women's basketball, joining her father
On Friday, less than 24 hours after Kayli committed to the Mountaineers, her fatherdelivered a heartfelt statementon getting the opportunity to coach his daughter at the collegiate level.
"This one hits a little different," Kellogg wrote. "I have watched you chase this dream for so long and now getting to continue the journey together as your coach makes it even more special. The greatest privilege will be chasing the same dream and doing it together. I’m so proud of you Kayli."

It's clear Kellogg is ecstatic to be able to have his daughter join him with the Mountaineers, and there are plenty of reasons why. Of course, it's always incredible for family to be able to enjoy such success together, and it's a feel-good story for West Virginia fans everywhere.
But Kayli also builds a strong foundation for what could be Mark Kellogg's biggest recruiting haul yet. Kellogg is among the top players in prep girls basketball in the Class of 2027, and that's the type of talent often able to come in and make an immediate impact. She's also not the only major target that has been tied to West Virginia in her class, also four-star Zya Small isalso set for a visitwith the Mountaineers.
And Kellogg certainly should take no time at all to mesh with her father in a basketball setting, given their relationship. So Kayli Kellogg joining the program is a big deal in more ways than one, and it makes sense that Mark Kellogg is thrilled at the development.
