Former West Virginia guard Javon Small is looking to land himself a spot on an NBA roster, and he took another step in doing so over the past few days.

Small is one of 75 athletes -- both from the college and international ranks -- who were selected to show off their skills at the 2025 NBA Draft Combine, which has taken place in Chicago over the past week.

The week started on a strong note for Small, as the former All-American and all-conference selection for the Mountaineers was projected as a late second-round draft pick in a post-draft lottery from ESPN.

Things continued to look up for Small as he further impressed scouts that same day with a strong three-point shooting performance, where he converted over 40 consecutive shots from behind-the-arc.

But Small's week was far from finished, as he was also set to compete in some five-on-five scrimmages with other prospects at the Combine, with the action wrapping up yesterday. And the stat line from his two scrimmage appearances demonstrates both his offensive versatility and dynamic skill on the defensive end of the court in quite a sneaky way.

Small was nowhere near the lead scorer for his team in either performance, but he played a big role for his team nonetheless. His squad pulled out a 104-80 victory on Wednesday, where Small scored six points on a pair of three-point shots but also added seven assists and led the team with three steals.

The next day, his team fell 104-87 in defeat, but he managed to add another seven points and three assists to his stat total for the week.
