The West Virginia Mountaineers have seen plenty of players announce their intent to enter the transfer portal in January once it opens – and one already seems to have his eyes on a new potential home.

Mountaineers fans were disappointed to learn earlier this month that Jahiem White was set to enter the transfer portal after three seasons in Morgantown, with his WVU career coming to an end due to an injury in Week 2 of the 2025 season against the Ohio Bobcats.

White will surely be a hot commodity on the transfer portal market, as he was a preseason All-American this past year and rushed for 800-or-more yards during back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024. But it looks like he might be set to follow his running backs coach from this past season to his new job.

Larry Porter, who coached White this past season in Morgantown, recently took a job on Alex Golesh's staff at Auburn. Recently, someone posted a picture on Instagram of White in action with an Auburn logo next to him – and White decided to re-post the photo to his Instagram story with the caption "don't sound bad."

White will bring three years of collegiate experience, over 1,700 career rushing yards, and 14 career rushing touchdowns to whichever tea he does end up landing with, and will have two years of eligibility remaining after obtaining a medical redshirt this past year.

It will be sad to see him leave Morgantown, but WVU fans will likely be supporting White to have a long and successful football career regardless of where he winds up.
