It’s been a productive and successful transfer portal period for WVU baseball head coach Steve Sabins after his first season at the helm of the program. Recently, WVU added to that success as they secured their second outfielder from the portal this offseason.

Brock Wills, a junior transfer from UNC Wilmington, has committed to WVU. Wills announced his commitment via his personal account on X, formerly known as Twitter, last Wednesday. He joins Colorado Mesa's Paul Schoenfeld as transfer outfielders coming to WVU in 2026.

During his junior season at UNC Wilmington, Wills started 34 games and hit for an impressive .351 average while also adding 22 RBIs, nine stolen bases, six doubles, and six home runs for the Seahawks. He also registered an outstanding .995 OPS during his third collegiate season, and was named a Second-Team All Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) selection for his performance.

With a transfer class including John LemmIan KornMatt IneichOwen PukChansen Cole, and Paul Schoenfeld, Wills is just the latest talent to commit to the Mountaineers for the 2026 season.

Wills has three years of experience in Division I baseball and is listed as both an infielder and outfielder on UNC Wilmington's 2025 roster, and will hopefully provide both some versatility and a veteran presence for Sabins.

With yet another add from the transfer portal, the WVU roster is starting to appear more filled out. As Sabins continues to land transfers, his rebuilt roster will hopefully lead to the Mountaineers sustaining their success from the last two seasons.
