For the second time in the month of December, a big loss for West Virginia football will be a big gain for a particular SEC football program.
Johnny Williams IV, who served as a backup offensive tackle but started multiple games in the absence of All-American Wyatt Milum and was expected to be a central figure on the 2025 starting offensive line in Morgantown, entered his name into the transfer portal last week. On Saturday, he announced he has found his new home with Missouri -- the same program that took in WVU starting linebacker Josiah Trotter earlier this month.
Williams made 18 appearances over two seasons with WVU and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. Missouri finished seventh in the SEC this season with an overall record of 9-3 and a conference record of 5-3, and are set for a Music City Bowl clash with Iowa on Monday. They are coached by Eliah Drinkwitz.
