The Mountaineers are set to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys this weekend at Milan Puskar Stadium, returning to Morgantown for their third home game of the season. The crowdis expected to be near-capacity, perhaps even a sell-out, with both teams entering receiving votes in the latest AP Poll.

If the Mountaineers win, they could be ranked inside the AP Top 25 for the first time in eight years. But they'll have to get past an Oklahoma State team with a highly-touted NFL prospect at quarterback in Drew Mestemaker, and a win over a Top 25 opponent in Oregon. The West Virginia Mountaineers and Oklahoma State Cowboys have played 16 times, with just three of those games coming before the Mountaineers joined the Big 12 in 2012. The Cowboys hold a 10-6 advantage in the series, and also lead the series in Morgantown 5-2.

The Mountaineers last beat the Cowboys in Morgantown in 2013. The most meeting between the two programs came in 2024, which the Mountaineers won decisiviely 38-14.

Injuries

The latest injury report for the Mountaineers featured two starters who suffered injury scares against Virginia – wideout Jaden Bray and offensive guard Nick Krahe – removed completely from the report. And fans already know that Darius Wiley is out for the season along the defensive line. Running back Chris Talley is not back into action yet either.

Darius Wiley is the only notable starter out for the Mountaineers. Third-string tailback Chris Talley is listed as questionable, while fourth-string back Martavious Boswell, tight end Cam Bell, and wide receiver Prince Strachan are all listed as probable – Rodriguez previouly indicated they would all likely be good to play. The only new concern is starting cornerback Nick Taylor, but he was also listed as probable, meaning there is still a decentlikelhood he plays.

Oklahoma State has offensive linemen Braydon Nelson and Joseph Hanson, as well as defensive tackle Iman Oates, listed as questionable. Offensive lineman Johnny Dickson III, defensive tackle Braylon Rigsby, and wideout Chris Barnes are all listed as probable for the Cowboys.
