WVU men’s basketball is after its highest-rated prospect in program history, and they’ll learn his decision on where to play soon.
The Mountaineers are in pursuit of five-star point guard Miles Sadler. The 5-foot-10, 165-pounder is listed by the 247Sports composite rankings as the second-best player in Arizona, the third-best point guard nationally, and 26th-best player overall in the Class of 2026. West Virginia has recently hosted Sadler for a visit during the football team’s ‘Coal Rush’ game against TCU in late October, and Sadler’s teammate at Bella Vista Prep – four-star center Aliou Dioum – has already committed to the Mountaineers.
The news broke on Wednesday that Sadler, who has the Mountaineers among his final six schools, will be making his college decision official this coming Sunday. WVU will be competing with Maryland, Oklahoma, Tennessee, UCLA, and USC to land Sadler’s commitment. In addition to WVU, Sadler has also taken official visits to the Sooners and the Volunteers in recent weeks.

If the Mountaineers can land Sadler, he will join Dioum and three-star guard Kingston Whitty on the list of 2026 commitments to head coach Ross Hodge. Hodge also hosted a pair of bright 2027 prospects who are also current prep teammates during the same weekend Sadler visited, as the program welcomed four-star prospects point guard Caleb Lundy and center Jadyn Jenkins – the two play together at Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, Pennsylvania.
With the number of highly-touted potential high school signees that have recently visited in combination with WVU’s current freshman class boasting stars already seeing significant playing time such as Amir Jenkins, Jayden Forsythe, and DJ Thomas, fans can rest assured the Hodge is committed to going after premier talent when recruiting.
