The injury news won’t stop coming for WVU football.

Rich Rodriguez announced on Tuesday afternoon during his press conference that several more WVU players might miss the upcoming game with Utah, after the news on Monday night that both starting center Landen Livingston is questionable and running back Tye Edwards is potentially doubtful.

The biggest update comes with starting quarterback Nicco Marchiol, who Rodriguez said disclosed to the staff that he has been dealing with some “mid-foot pain” for awhile and is seeing a specialist in Colorado today about the issue, but could miss this week’s game. That leaves this upcoming week of practice to attempt to sort out exactly who the next man up should be, given that three other players have seen reps this year and a fourth man has been included in the battle as well.

“All the other four quarterbacks are going to get reps this week, and we’ll figure it out from there,” Rodriguez said about the quarterback situation.

Starting right guard Kimo Makane'ole and right tackle Ty’Kieast Crawford are also apparently banged up following the Kansas game and are questionable headed into this week. This comes after the pair have faced scrutiny for their play in recent games as the offensive line has failed to impress many who follow the team. Rodriguez indicated that if he had felt there were better options on the line, “we would have already been rotating them in and out.’ But now, he expects guys further down the depth chart will get opportunities due to injuries.
