WVU football fans got some good news and some bad news regarding injuries to starters on the team Monday night.
Head coach Rich Rodriguez broached the injury subject while speaking on The Rich Rodriguez Show, and he indicated that one injury to a starter during the Kansas game that fans and media members assumed could be season-ending might actually be relatively minor. However, another injury from the previous week might be worse than imagined.
Starting center Landen Livingston left the game against the Jayhawks after going down with a lower-body injury, and was not able to put weight on one leg as he was helped off the field. Rodriguez updated Livingston's diagnosis, and indicated that he could be back quickly.
“He’s going to be questionable," Rodriguez said. “It wasn’t a high ankle sprain, it was more of a deep bruise."
Rich Rod says Landen Livingston has a deep bruise and not a high ankle sprain. He'll be questionable for this week's game. Cycnir Bowers (concussion) is questionable. Tye Edwards (hip pointer) is still questionable.

Rodriguez also provided an update on running back Tye Edwards, who exploded for 141 yards and three touchdowns in the Backyard Brawl in Week 3 after seeing no carries through the first two games. He appeared on the player availability reports throughout last week as injured, but there were no rumors indicating he wouldn't play throughout the week. He ended up being a game-time decision, and despite dressing for the game, Edwards saw no action against the Jayhawks. Fans were a bit shocked that he didn't play, and we learned Monday there's a shot he doesn't make it on the field this week either.
“It’s probably more doubtful at this point," Rodriguez said about the odds Edwards will be back in action.
Rich Rod says it's probably more "doubtful" than "hopeful" for RB Tye Edwards this Saturday vs. Utah.
