4 best games between Kansas and WVU football
2013, 31-19 Kansas win
All four of the WVU football team’s victories in the 2013 season occurred before this game. The Mountaineers ended the season with a three-game losing streak and the 31-19 loss to Kansas was sandwiched in between defeats to Texas and Iowa State, both in Morgantown.
It was a cold November day when the West Virginia Mountaineers made their first trip to Lawrence, Kansas for a football game. The depressing weather turned into a depressing outcome for the Mountaineers.
Six WVU football players ran the ball for the Mountaineers and nobody reached 100 yards for the game. Meanwhile, James Simms of the Jayhawks tallied 211 yards and three rising touchdowns. Kansas quarterback Montell Mozart was efficient, too, though he only completed 5 of 12 passes. He didn’t throw an interception, though.
Paul Millard started under center for West Virginia and was sacked twice and also there two interceptions.
