Khalil Herbert

Khalil Herbert has emerged as the top running back for Kansas. Even though Dana Holgorsen did not make mention of him in the press conference, he will be a main target in the defensive gameplan for WVU defensive coordinator Tony Gibson.

Herbert started against Ohio University last week and had a career day despite a disappointing loss against a team from the Mid-American Conference. Herbert had 137 yards and two touchdowns against Ohio. That included a long run of 56 yards. He had just three prior carries before that game this season.

Dana Holgorsen did mention Taylor Martin, who is pictured above. Martin only played in one game this season and has been injured since going down against Southeast Missouri State. Martin was recently ruled out again against the WVU football team.

The West Virginia defense has been good at stopping the run this season. To secure a victory, the unit will have to limit Herbert to under 100 yards on the ground.
