Delaware State Hornets

Last year, the Mountaineers handled their FCS opponent, Youngstown State, with relative ease. The WVU football team handed the Penguins a 38-21 defeat.

A similar result will happen to this year’s FCS opponent, Delaware State. Actually, things will get even uglier for the Hornets than it was for the Penguins.

The Hornets did not win a game last season. The WVU football team and Delaware State share a common opponent from the 2016 season. The Mountaineers beat Missouri, 26-11, in the season-opening game last year. The Tigers went on to beat the Hornets, 79-0, in Week 3.

After dismantling the East Carolina Pirates the week before, the WVU football team will have no trouble hanging at least 70 points against the Hornets.

Remember how, in those first three guaranteed wins, the Mountaineers were going to score at least 100 points? In these next three guaranteed wins, the WVU football team will put up at least 145 points.

Prediction: 73-10
