West Virginia women's basketball stood strong at No. 18 in the newest edition of the AP Top 25 Women's College Basketball Poll, maintaining their spot from the previous week.
The No. 18 Mountaineers stayed steady in the poll with a 2-0 week against in-conference competition, cruising to double-digit victories over Kansas last Wednesday and Houston this past Saturday.

The Mountaineers are 1-of-5 Big 12 programs making an appearance in this week's Top 25 poll, with TCU (No.11) and Kansas State (No. 14) appearing in front of the Mountaineers. Baylor (No. 25) crawled into the final spot in the poll, becoming the fifth team from the conference to enter the poll at the moment. Oklahoma State (No. 20) made the biggest amongst conference teams, climbing five spots after a win over Kansas State.
2-of-4 opponents WVU has lost to appear in the poll, and both climbed higher in this week's edition -- the aforementioned Oklahoma State made their huge jump, and Texas (No. 3) climbed one additional spot into the Top 3 nationally.
Now, the Mountaineers will prepare for their toughest stretch of the season, with three ranked teams in this week's Top 25 appearing over the next four games. First, the Mountaineers will complete their Texas road swing with a trip to Waco to battle No. 25 Baylor.
After a homecourt clash with Cincinnati for Senior Day this Saturday, the Mountaineers will enter the spotlight next week with a pair of nationally televised ranked clashes that will sort out the top of the standings in the Big 12 -- they host No. 14 Kansas State at home next Monday on Fox, and then travel back out west to clash with No. 11 TCU on ESPN2.
