West Virginia women's basketball finds themselves headed the wrong direction in the latest edition of the AP Top 25 Women's College Basketball Poll despite securing a massive win over a Top 15 opponent last week.

The Mountaineers fell one spot in this week's poll to No. 18 after splitting their pair of Top 25 matchups during the previous week -- the Mountaineers were able to knock off Kansas State (then ranked No. 12) on President's Day before falling to No. 10 TCU in a Sunday afternoon road trip.

The appearance continues a season-long streak of making the AP Top 25 for the Mountaineers. They are 1-of-5 Big 12 teams that make an appearance in the poll this week -- TCU maintained their spot at No. 10 from last week, while Kansas State dropped to No. 14 after their loss to the Mountaineers.

WVU was surpassed in the poll by Baylor (who beat the Mountaineers two weeks ago), who landed at No. 17. Coming in below the Mountaineers was Oklahoma State at No. 21. Big 12 program Utah also received votes in the poll but did not crack the Top 25 -- the Utes came in 28th out of the 36 teams who earned votes.

The Mountaineers also find themselves 13th overall in the latest NCAA NET Ranking, which is the third-best amongst Big 12 teams behind Kansas State and TCU.

4-of-6 losses this season for WVU have come to teams currently ranked in the Top 25, including a non-conference loss in a closely contested game to Texas, who found themselves ranked No. 1 overall in the newest poll.

This Wednesday, the Mountaineers will host the aforementioned Utah Utes at the WVU Coliseum in a 'Coal Rush' game that will serve as the regular season home finale for WVU.
