WVU women’s basketball fans in the southern part of the state will get a chance to see their favorite team tip-off against a fellow power conference opponent in a unique venue this season.

It was recently announced that the Mountaineers are set to face the Duke Blue Devil during the 2025 Greenbrier Tip-off on Friday, November 14. The match-up is scheduled to take place at the historic Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va – just the second time a women's basketball game will be played at the venue following a contest between Radford and Navy last season.

The 2025 Greenbrier Tip-Off will also include a four-game event scheduled for the next weekend between November 21-23, with Butler, Virginia, Northwestern and South Carolina slated to compete in the men’s portion of the event. The WVU/Duke women’s game will be played in The Greenbrier's Colonial Hall, but the start time has not yet been announced.

WVU is coming off their second consecutive NCAA Tournament Round of 32 appearance, and finished the year ranked No. 21 nationally with a 25-8 record. Duke, meanwhile, finished 29-8 last year, reaching the Elite Eight during the NCAA Tournament and finishing ranked No. 7 nationally. The Blue Devils also won the ACC Tournament title last season.

The Mountaineers and the Blue Devils have met two times in program history, doing so in back-to-back seasons in 1995 and 1996 – Duke leads the series 2-0 over WVU. For those interested in attending the game, Mountaineer Athletic Club (MAC) members and season ticket holders will receive a presale link to tickets on August 20. Tickets will go on sale to the general public the following day on August 21.
