The West Virginia Mountaineers have their backs against the wall as they enter their second game of the day on Sunday.
The Mountaineers fell into the loser's bracket of the Morgantown Regional in the NCAA Tournament after a loss on Saturday to the No. 3 seed Kentucky Wildcats, but they rebounded to win their elimination game against No. 2 seed Wake Forest and send the Demon Deacons home for the season. But now, if West Virginia wants to move on to it's third straight Super Regional appearance, they must defeated the Wildcats twice.
This marks the fifth showdown between West Virginia and Kentucky in the NCAA Regionals over the the past four years – Kentucky sent the Mountaineers home for the season from the Lexington Regional in 2023, then WVU went 2-0 against Kentucky last year to advance to the Baton Rouge Super Regional. Now, the Mountaineers will be looking for revenge after Saturday's loss in their most recent battle. Here's how to follow along with the game.
